JJ&K Remodeling recently finished a complete Basement Remodeling project for a customer in Centreville, VA. The Basement Remodel consisted of the following:
Framing for Basement Remodel: Framing of walls to include an office with storage closet and French door entrance, bathroom, unfinished storage area and all exterior walls around complete basement. Installation of a bar area with knee wall for bar and bulkhead over bar to hang pendant lights.
Electricity and Plumbing for Basement Remodel: Included 38 recessed lights installed throughout basement along with 3 pendant lights hung over bar. Wall outlets were installed in gas fireplace area, entertainment area, and in office area. GFI outlets were installed in bathroom and near wet sink in bar
Basement Remodel Bar Area: A complete bar was built and included cabinets, granite countertop with under-mount sink with faucet and bar rail. Tile was installed on the floor in bar area and includes a built in refrigerator.
Remodeled Bathroom for Remodeled Basement: JJ&K Remodeling installed a new bathroom with a shower with mortar floor and matted floor tile. We installed 10" tile on shower walls with recessed shampoo holder and soap dish. Vanity lights were be installed over medicine cabinet above a 36" vanity
Paint for Basement Remodel: Ceilings were painted with Duron Ultra Deluxe flat Ceiling White. Basement walls were painted with Duron Ultra Deluxe flat and bathroom walls, door and trim were painted with semi-gloss paint
Remaining Basement Area Remodel: Tile was installed at entrance of back sliding exterior door and carpet was installed throughout remainder of basement. Five HVAC vents were installed throughout basement. Drywall was hung and finished throughout all finished areas of basement including under stairs. We added doors that matched the existing doors upstairs and included: one set of French doors, double door for closet, a 48"-60" double door to storage area, 24" door to bathroom and one double door entering utility area across from exterior sliding glass door. Crown molding was installed in office and in entertainment/TV area next to bar. We built an archway at the middle of large area next to side of stairs to divide the large area into two rooms. We installed handrails and pickets at bottom of stairs and extended the bottom step so that handrail will curve to the right into the large area room. We added a stained-wood pool-rail, approximately 30' long by 12" wide, around two of the walls. The pool-rail has a cornered edge with a sealed inner platform for drinks and pool-chalk. JJ&K built a TV wall with 2"x6" studs to enable an indentation to be built into the wall to allow a flat screen TV to set flush with the wall and installed four shelves on long wall in utility room.
