Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling Northern Virginia – Round Hill, VA
JJ&K Remodeling recently completed a Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling project in Round Hill, VA. The remodel was completed in October, 2010 and consisted of the following:
Kitchen Remodel
Demolition consisted of the removal of countertops, sink, faucet, garbage disposal, base cabinets, wall cabinets, oven cabinet, and all appliances.
Rebuilt kitchen to include new wall cabinets, base cabinets, oven cabinet and utility cabinet. Installed toe kicks, 3” crown molding, base and wall fillers and new granite countertops that included an 18” bar rail. Also included was a new double sink, faucets, dishwasher, stovetop, wall oven, garbage disposal and a refrigerator with water line to ice maker.
Upon completion of cabinet installation a tile backsplash was installed. Walls were painted to match existing walls where work was performed. The customer chose TSG New Yorker style cabinets with full plywood construction, soft close and dove tail drawers.
Bathroom Remodel
Demolition included the removal of the following: flooring, plumbing and electric, toilet, tub and tub-surround, wall tile, vanity sink top, faucets on sink top and tub, floor tile, baseboards, medicine cabinet, vanity lights, exhaust fan, towel rack, and toilet paper holder.
The Vanity mirror was removed during demo and reinstalled after bathroom painting. The tub-surround was rebuilt to enclose a smaller Jacuzzi with a step built at the front of the tub- surround.
Braces were built in shower wall and above tub to enable the installation of safety rails as well as plumbing for a new steamer.
The new spacious shower includes double showerheads, a seat, recessed shampoo holder and one corner mounted shelf. Shower has a mortar floor with a rubber mat. 12” tile was installed on bathroom floor and 8”-10” tile was installed on shower walls.
All walls were prepped and painted and all bathroom fixtures (including mirror) was installed. A new medicine cabinet was installed to the right of the mirror.
