Kitchen Remodeling Northern Virginia – Reston, VA
JJ&K recently completed a Kitchen Remodeling project in Reston, VA at the beginning of January 2011. The project consisted of the following:
Kitchen Demolition
Complete demolition that included the removal of all kitchen base cabinets, wall cabinets, appliances, countertops, plumbing, electrical, ceiling, and flooring. The existing walls that housed the closet were removed to make ready for new cabinets. All drywall was replaced on walls and ceiling in kitchen.
Kitchen Plumbing
Plumbing was redone to include hot and cold water lines to the double sink faucet; cold water line to the refrigerator; and hot and cold water lines to the dishwasher.
Kitchen Electrical Features
Electrical features included GFI outlets; outlets to run off GFI on both sides of kitchen; light switches; switch for garbage disposal; microwave; stove; refrigerator; dishwasher; outlet for flat screen television; overhead lighting; and under-cabinet lights (one light per cabinet) on all wall cabinets with a dimmer switch.
Kitchen Flooring
Removed all flooring throughout dining room, hallway between the stairway and bathroom walls, and eating area. The square footage was 726 feet. JJ&K installed new hardwood flooring with 15-pound underlayment throughout the project area. The new floor was finished with shoe molding.
Kitchen Cabinets and Countertops
Installed kitchen base cabinets, wall cabinets, crown molding, filler strips, and cabinet hardware. Added glass inserts in all appropriate wall cabinet doors and topped off with new granite countertops. The customer chose Kemper Cabinets’ Caprice Maple door style with a Wheat finish that included wooden toe kicks and crown molding
Installation of Kitchen Appliances
JJ&K Remodeling installed all new appliances and included a water line to icemaker in refrigerator.
Kitchen Finishing
The Kitchen Remodeling Project was completed with precise trim carpentry and fresh painting
